Tyne Amos

My name is Tyne Amos. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with professional women heal from trauma. A professional women may be experiencing intense anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and other challenges in her personal life that may impact her professional life. These symptoms could be from past traumatic experiences that may have never been fully resolved. I enjoy working in the areas of trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression, professional life, wholistic health, burnout resolution, and stress management. My passion is partnering with individuals on the journey of returning home to themselves. Trauma, stress, mental health concerns, relationship issues, and a number of other circumstances outside of our control have the tendency to push us out of our "window of tolerance" where we begin living in a survival mindset instead of thriving in areas of connection with self, personal calling, wholistic wellbeing, and healthy community. I hope to help professional women on the healing journey back to a place where they are connected with who they truly are. I aim to help you address major concerns that can fragment your true self and learn techniques and practical skills to simply return, return to the healed and whole person you were always meant to be. We can together walk through some of the greatest challenges you may be facing that are impacting your personal and professional life and explore ways to optimize your performance and functioning by healing from past trauma and faulty mindsets that often come along with these traumatic experiences. It can be a concern for many professionals that therapy is confidential, ensuring no employer or even for some, insurance company is aware of any concern the professional is having. This can sometimes be due to stigma, and unfortunately sometimes due to harsh professional standards and biases. All sessions at Returning Home Counseling are strictly confidential and private pay.

I work with women of all professional backgrounds to navigate struggles in their lives to be able to “return home” to themselves both in a professional and a personal context. I have worked with lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, teachers, nurses, mental health professionals, engineers, marketing professionals, as well as many other types of professional women in the workforce. I have experience in healthcare social work and clinical counseling and have even witnessed burnout in colleagues and patients which has motivated me to gear my practice for professionals from a trauma informed lens. Sometimes, our employers can be the ones that are creating a traumatic and unhealthy environment or trigger the professional woman, reminding her of past traumatic events in her own life. Often times a woman is not aware she is being triggered, but she is having an adverse experience like increased anxiety or depression. Some of the greatest stressors my clients face come from work challenges and my goal is to help my clients not only work through these challenges but do so from a trauma informed perspective that encourages self-compassion, honoring and healing from past trauma, and provokes positive powerful cognitions that can be life-changing from both a personal and a professional standpoint.
